Do you like helping older people? Aged care homes in Melbourne, Victoria are looking for a Care Assistant. You will support residents with daily life, such as washing, dressing, eating and moving around.
The work is about kindness and respect. Residents should feel safe, comfortable and free to do things for themselves.
The employer says offshore applicants may be considered for employer sponsorship subject to eligibility. Offshore means outside Australia. People in Australia with suitable work rights are also welcome.

Key Responsibilities
- Give kind and respectful care that puts each resident first
- Help residents wash, shower, dress, groom and use the toilet
- Help with walking, transfers and mobility equipment
- Support residents at meals, with drinks and with feeding
- Be a friendly companion and give emotional support
- Help residents with their daily routines and activities that matter to them
- Follow each resident's care plan and the workplace procedures
- Follow infection control, manual handling and safety rules
- Talk well with nurses, carers, allied health staff and families
- Respect privacy, dignity, culture and personal choices
- Encourage residents to stay independent and join daily activities
- Help to keep the home safe, supportive and respectful
- Notice changes in a resident's body, feelings or behaviour, report them and write accurate care notes
Requirements & Eligibility
- A qualification in aged care, healthcare, nursing assistance or personal care
- Previous experience in aged care, residential care or disability support preferred
- Practical understanding of person-centred care
- A compassionate, reliable and professional attitude
- Able to build respectful relationships with residents and care teams
- Able to follow care plans, procedures and workplace standards
- Flexible to work different shifts, including weekends when required
- Strong communication and people skills, and a good level of English for the workplace and for resident communication
