Key Responsibilities
- Look after the café's daily operations
- Lead and coach baristas and front-of-house staff and keep them organised
- Make coffee yourself and keep quality steady
- Teach staff how to prepare drinks, serve customers and follow café procedures
- Make staff rosters and keep the right number of people on shift
- Help plan seasonal menus, specials and drink choices
- Arrange live entertainment, pop-ups and private events
- Work with suppliers, performers and event partners
- Count stock, place orders and keep stock levels right
- Follow operating costs and help with simple financial tasks
- Keep to food safety, hygiene and workplace safety rules
- Keep the café clean, tidy and friendly for customers
- Listen to customer feedback, fix service problems and build good customer relationships for a positive café culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of work managing a café or restaurant
- Strong barista skills with commercial espresso equipment
- Diploma in Hospitality for applicable Queensland sponsorship pathways
- Minimum 3 years of Australian hospitality management experience after the relevant diploma, for sponsorship eligibility
- Verifiable proof of your qualifications and work history
- Shown ability to lead a team and manage staff
- Good rostering, organisation and time-management skills
- Understanding of stock control, cost-of-goods and basic financial processes
- Event coordination or menu development experience is an advantage
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A reliable and flexible attitude to weekend and evening work
- Current food-safety certification
- Valid work rights or eligibility for sponsorship, Work State: Queensland
