Key Responsibilities
- Install kitchens, cabinets and cabinet parts in homes
- Read cabinetry plans, drawings and specifications
- Measure the installation area and check site sizes
- Put together and prepare cabinets for installation
- Fit cabinet doors, panels, fillers, kickboards and hardware
- Change and adjust cabinets to match the site
- Do on-site changes and finishing work
- Work with laminate, melamine and other cabinet materials
- Find installation problems and solve them in a practical way
- Check that cabinets are aligned, level and fixed safely
- Keep your workmanship neat and your attention to detail high
- Finish projects on time and to the required specifications
- Work well with colleagues and other trades
- Speak professionally when you work at customer homes
- Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe, and follow workplace health and safety procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 5 years of relevant cabinet-making, joinery or kitchen installation experience
- Relevant trade qualification in cabinet making, joinery or a related discipline preferred
- Demonstrated experience installing residential kitchens and cabinetry
- Strong practical knowledge of how cabinets are built and installed
- Can read plans, drawings and measurements accurately
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Can make changes on site and solve problems
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Can work on your own and manage the tasks you are given
- Professional, reliable and careful about safety
- Australian driver's licence or ability to obtain one, plus reliable transport
- Verifiable employment history and evidence of relevant trade experience
- Previous Australian industry experience is highly regarded
- Must currently be residing in Australia
