Do you enjoy cooking breakfast food? A busy cafe in Brisbane, Queensland needs a full-time Brunch Chef. The work is in the daytime, from Monday to Friday.

You will cook breakfast and brunch dishes and keep them looking and tasting the same each day. You will also keep the kitchen clean and help the team. The cafe has an established team, and you can grow your career there. Sponsorship is available for an appropriately qualified and experienced candidate. Knowing Asian cuisine is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast and brunch dishes to a high, steady standard
  • Show strong cooking skills in daily service
  • Keep food quality, portion size and presentation the same each time
  • Take responsibility for kitchen preparation and service
  • Manage kitchen tasks well when the cafe is full
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven professional experience working as a Chef
  • Experience in cafe, brunch or breakfast work is highly regarded
  • Strong practical cooking and food preparation ability
  • Shown ability to keep quality high in busy service
  • Ability to take ownership of kitchen responsibilities
  • Previous experience training or mentoring kitchen staff
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills
  • Reliable, punctual and well organised
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and professional approach to work
  • Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
  • High standards of cleanliness and food presentation
  • Asian cuisine knowledge or experience is an advantage
  • Ability to work the required Monday-to-Friday daytime roster
  • Relevant professional experience and skills must be demonstrable and verifiable
