Do you have strong experience in poultry farming? A leading poultry breeding business in NSW needs a Breeder Farm Manager. The farm is near Goulburn. You will be responsible for the flock, the daily farm work and the farm team.

Good results come from careful husbandry, close monitoring, strong biosecurity and good leadership. You will help keep the breeder birds healthy and help the farm reach its targets. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily work and results of the breeder farm
  • Manage flock activities with the farm's production procedures
  • Watch bird health, flock results and production figures
  • Use proven husbandry methods to keep breeder stock healthy
  • Follow strict biosecurity, hygiene and disease prevention
  • Keep animal welfare standards high at all times
  • Lead and train the farm team, and plan who does which task each day
  • Spot production problems and fix them in a practical way
  • Keep clear farm records and write reports on the flock and the farm
  • Find ways to make the farm more productive and consistent
  • Work with senior managers to reach production goals
  • Help build a team culture of responsibility and steady improvement

Requirements & Eligibility

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in poultry production is the minimum
  • Experience managing or supervising a poultry farm
  • Strong knowledge of breeder poultry production
  • Good understanding of poultry husbandry and flock management
  • Knowledge of animal health, disease prevention and biosecurity
  • Understand animal welfare standards and industry rules
  • Able to lead, supervise and develop farm workers
  • Good at planning, organising and managing time
  • Can read production information and see performance problems
  • Clear communication and reporting
  • Able to solve practical problems on the farm
  • Active in finding ways to improve production
  • Committed to animal welfare, biosecurity and quality, and able to show and verify your work experience and technical skills
