Support Workers are needed in Whanganui, New Zealand. They help people who have complex behaviour and health needs. The worker helps them manage big feelings and health problems, keeps everyone safe and encourages good behaviour.
The job also helps people learn daily living skills and become more independent. You do not need earlier experience in health or disability support. A strong wish to work as a Support Worker and a positive attitude are valued. The employer is an accredited employer with Immigration New Zealand, so it can sponsor workers on the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV).

Key Responsibilities
- Help people with complex behaviour and medical needs to manage strong emotions and health problems.
- Keep people safe and promote positive behaviour.
- Help people become independent and learn skills for daily living.
- Help with different tasks, depending on each person's ability. Tasks may include transportation, employment, finances, meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, showering and medication administration.
- Work daytime, evening, overnight and weekend shifts.
- Manage risk.
- Respond well in difficult situations.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience in managing challenging behaviours is preferred.
- Ability to work with behaviours that can challenge.
- Availability to work flexible shifts.
- This includes weekends and wakeover shifts.
- Comfortable and good at using computers and tablets every day.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Good physical fitness to give the physical support that is needed.
- A Full NZ driver's license.
