Are you an experienced Accountant? A care services organisation in Perth, Western Australia needs someone for accounts receivable and financial reporting. You will manage NDIS and brokerage receivables. You will also support the Support at Home function.

Daily tasks include funding claims, reconciliations, monthly reports and compliance checks. The team needs figures that are accurate, clear and under good control, and you will talk often with finance and operations colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the NDIS and brokerage accounts receivable work
  • Handle every stage from quote to payment: service agreements, invoices and claims
  • Review funding claims; sort out any that are rejected, late or underpaid
  • Apply receipts, and reconcile client accounts, funding payments and remittances
  • Watch unpaid accounts and chase the debt
  • Reconcile receivables control accounts, find differences, and prepare the journals and adjustments
  • Support the Support at Home receivables function with accounting
  • Help with client budget reconciliations and hard account questions
  • Work with operational teams to confirm services, funding, agreements and invoices
  • Reconcile the bank, balance sheet, general ledger and intercompany accounts
  • Prepare accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other entries
  • Help with monthly and annual closing, and with profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash-flow reports
  • Add to management reports and financial analysis
  • Help with budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and expenditure checks
  • Support BAS, GST, payroll tax and other statutory compliance tasks
  • Keep accounting records accurate and internal controls strong, and suggest improvements to systems, reporting and receivables processes

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working as a professional accountant
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable: invoicing, collections, payment allocation and reconciliations
  • Financial reporting, journal and month-end accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of Australian accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel skills, and experience with accounting and financial management software
  • Good at analysing and solving problems
  • Pays close attention to detail and stays organised
  • Can write and speak clearly, and can work alone while helping the wider team
  • Can handle confidential financial information in a safe and professional way
  • NDIS, aged care, Support at Home or government-funded receivables experience is highly regarded
  • Experience with quotes, service agreements and funding schedules is advantageous
  • Knowledge of the SCHADS Award and Nurses Award is advantageous
  • Experience with payroll processes and Employment Hero is advantageous
  • A CPA or CA qualification, or progress toward getting one, is advantageous
  • Can meet the Australian employment requirements and the applicable sponsorship requirements
